® The CLAS met at 7:30pm in the Town Hall Conference Room. Present at the meeting
were Tom Green, Cathy Martin, Carol Grimm and Peter Hechenbleilmer.
Peter presented a fust draft of the FY 1998 -FY 2007 Capital Improvement Program and
the Financing Plan. The draft included the School department's projected 10 year capital
needs. The plan will require an increase in the percentage of revenue dedicated to debt
service and annual capital appropriations in order to balance.
The fust draft raised a number of questions:

1) Open space acquisitions at $100,000 per year for 10 years. cr a—+

2) $200,000 to network the Town and School buildings with optical fiber. 00 ==m

3)$11,700 to put a Cafe in the library. 3 m M o

4) None of the DPW projects have been updated yet.
5) Question whether$4,000,000 is the right amount for the renovations at Coolidge.
Peter agreed to fiuther review all the departmental requests and present us a revised draft
at our next meeting.
