HomeMy WebLinkAbout1930-06-20 Board of Public Works Minutes June 20, 1930 The regular meeting of . the B. of P. W. was held this day at 7:30 P.M. ' All four members and the Superintendent were present. The previous records were read and approved. A letter from Mrs . Charles N. Holmes, 18 Pearl St. , was received requesting a corner curb at Pearl and Orange Sts . , which is to be investigated. A letter of appreciation was received from Mrs. Frank Stevens , for Sewer facilities on School St. Proposals for cast iron pipe were opened at 8 P .M. as follows: U.S. Pipe and Foundry Co. 2500 lin. ft. @ $42.00 N.T. U.S. Pipe and Foundry Co. De Lavaud " " " C6 1. 50 per foot Donaldson Iron Co. " " . " @ 42.00 N.T. R. D. Wood Co. " " " @ 47.10 per 2000 Lbs, Fred A. Houdlette' Son Inc. " " " @ 1.61 per foot The Board voted unanimously to award the contract to the U. S. Pipe and Foundry Co. for De Lavaud Pipe @ 1. 50 per foot. A hearing was held for a permit to locate 3 poles on Longview Road westerly from Prospect St. and for -1 pole on Gilmore Avenue southerly from Woburn St. The Board voted to refund Kingman & Richardson $29.00 on corner curbs and to put stone dust on sidewalks. It was voted to purchase 1 Jungle Gym. @ $190. and 1 Giant Stride at $60.00. Board adjourned at 9:10 P.M. A True Record: Attest: ' William T. Fairclough SECRETARY
