HomeMy WebLinkAbout1930-06-13 Board of Public Works Minutes June 13, 1930 Regular meeting of B. of P.W. was held this day at 7:30 P .M. , with all four members and the Supt. present. The previous report was read and approved. Superintendent reported on dumping of sewage and recommended that two places be assigned at conveniently located points for such purposes. Superintendent to write to railroad., calling attention of condition of the Willow St. crossing and requesting that is be made safe for travel. A letter from Metcalf & Eddy re bid of Pittsburg-Des Moines Steel Co. and recommended that Board sign contract for $19,400.00, which Board voted to do unanimously. Superintendent isto notify Engineers of Board' s action. ' The contract for the construction of the foundation, etc. , was signed by the Board. . It is estimated that 200 more loads of filling will be available from Main St. construction for Birch Meadow. Superintendent reported that he had permission to do Salem St. construction and that 39000.00 is allotted. He is to start High St. sidewalk very soon. Forest St. construction was discussed. Also Playground equipment committee to be asked to recommend what should be purchased. Mr. Putnam suggested that a complete wall should be built on Lowell St. just north of Grove St. at the landslide. Supt. reported that $29.00 should be refunded to. Kingman & Richardson, representing one half cost of corner curb placed at Westwood Park. _2_ ' June 13, 1930 Cont. The Board adjourned at 9:30 P.M. A True Record: Attest: William T.
