April 18, 1930
The regular weekly meeting of the Board of Public Works '
was held this day at 7:30 P.M.
All four members were present, also the Superintendent.
Mr. Samuel H. Davis, our new Town Counsel met with the Board
and reported on the titles of the Standpipe location and Birch
Meadow and advised that survey work on the Standpipe location
might be started at once. Filling on Forest St. and Birch Meadow,
with material from the new State Highway is to be started the
coming week, Mr. Putnam reported.
Mrs. William Rich, residing on John St. opposite the Highway
Barn and Yard, appeared objecting to conditions at the Yard and
ciained it detrimental to her property; she also said ditch in
rear of her property needed to be cleaned. The Chairman said that ,
the Yard would be kept as clean as possible and that ditch would
be cleaned if necessary.
A letter from Mrs . Dorothy M. Stevens on School St. was received
with check relative to sewer in her street.
A letter from Romaine E. Gill, 32 Village St. was received
asking for a corner curb at Village & Green Sts.
Bids on Motor Lawn Mower were received from Breck's and
Francis Bros. , Supt. to obtain bids for mower with roller, which
was not included in previous bids.
It was voted to grant releases of easement for drain on
property on Bond St. where drain has been removed. Mr. Davis is
to prepare said releases.

' Mr. Steeves appeared relative to approval of plans of a
portion of Hartshorn St. and Winthrop Ave. by the Board of Survey.
It was voted to lay a 6" water pipe in Winthrop Ave. and
connect with small pipe so that he may obtain water.
A letter was received from Mr. Charles Hasty requesting a
curbing on Temple St. in front of his property opposite to
entrance to Junior High School. A curb will be laid, provided
he will pay 1/2 the cost.
The Superintendent reported that he is ready to start work
on Main Street Drain.
The Superintendent was advised that Board will hear Truck men
next Friday at 8:15 P.M.
