HomeMy WebLinkAbout1930-02-06 Board of Public Works Minutes A special meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Thursday Evening, February 6, 1930, at the Town Building, at 8:00 P.M. There were present: Samuel H. Davis Miles C. Higgins , and Martin B. Hartshorn, In the absence of the Secretary, Miles C. Higgins was elected Secretary Pro Tem. A hearing upon the laying out, relocation or alteration of the '"Iesterly side of Main Street, in Reading, as shown on Plan of Relocation of Main Street, dated February 6, 1930, was duly held at eight o'clock, and after discussion, it was VOTED: To lay out and/or relocate and/or alter a town way in such wise as to widen Main Street, in said Reading at its westerly side and northerly of its intersection with Haven Street so that the westerly side line of said Main Street as so laid out, and/or relocated and/or altered shall be a line as follows:- Beginning at a point on the northerly line of Haven Street thirty-three (33) feet southwest of the intersection of the northerly line of Haven Street, with the westerly line of Main Street„ thence running due north for a distance of two hundred thirty-nine and sixty-four, one hundredths (239.64) feet; thence by a curve to the left having a radius of two hundred fifty and fifteen one hundredths (250.15) feet for a distance of eighty-two and fifty-two one hundredths (82. 52) feet to the intersection with the westerly line of Main Street.. The above described lines are more fully shown on said plan which is incorporated herein and forms a part hereof. A True Record:- Attest:- Miles C. Higgins SECRETARY PRO TEM. Feb. 6, 1930 At a Special Meeting of the Board of Public Works , there were present Chairman, Samuel Davis, Seely. , H. Putnam, M.C. Higgins, M. Hartshorn and the Superintendent. The meeting was called for the purpose of a hearing on the relocation of the Main St. line on the westerly side of Reading Square. The hearing was held in Room 19 and there were present: Mr. and Mrs. Gordon, Mr. M. F. Charles, Finance Committee, Forest Bryant Planning Board: Mr. Davis , Mr. Kingman Mr. Boyers , Board of Public Works ; Mr. Davis, ' Hartshorn, Higgins, Putnam, Harold The plan was approved by the Board. A sign was ordered at the corner of Haverhill and Franklin Sts . Adjourned at 9 P.M. Harold W. Putnam SSC UTARY 1
