A meeting of the Board of Public Works was held this day
at 7:30 P.M.
Present were:
Samuel H. Davis
Miles C. Higgins
Martin B. Hartshorn
William T. Fairclough _ -
Harold W. Putnam and the
Superintendent
A letter was received from Frank Merrillrequestingthat
Bond and Hunt Streets be recommended for acceptance at the next Town
Meeting. Action on the matter was postponed.
Mr. White of 38 Forest Street appeared to protest his water
' bill. The Board felt the bill was not unreasonable and no action was
taken.
Mr.. Shipkin presented a petition requesting approval of a
layout of Third Street by the Board of Survey.
A plan of A Street was presented by Mr. Gilmet for approval
by the Board of Survey.
Mr. McGowan came before the Board to complain about the
material coming on the highway from the John Street Dump.-
. A letter was received from Chester Pierce requesting a curb
be set in front of 55 gine Street. to remedy a sidewalk condition.
The general condition of the water supply was discussed and
it was voted to ask Metcalf & Eddy to send a representative to talk
' to the Board on next Friday evening.
A further taking w. s made to provide for the Kingston Street
drain, a copy of said taking is herewith attached.

Minutes re: Taking of Kingston Street Drain '
Upon motion duly made and seconded,
VOTED: By and under the authority of Statute 1909, Chap.
314 and of all other law thereunto enabling, the Board proceed to
a taking of an easement for sewer, drainage and other purposes, and
of any such works in lands of Grace C. Nichols, Elsie J. Turner, May
E. Milbury, James J. Hurley, R.G. and E. G. Higgins, Gertrude C.
Bailey, Dora Black, E. B. and A, S. Ralston, W. N. and M. J. Richards
and A. W. and R. K. Webster lying between Kingston Street and the
northerly boundary of lands of said Richards and of said Webster, all
as set forth in an order of taking submitted to the Board at this mee-
ting and a plan in connection therewith, and that said order of taking
be executed and filed to be recorded with said plan in the Registry. of '
Deeds for the South District of the County of Middlesex and that writ-
ten notification of said taking be sent to all persons interested as
owners of said premises.
Thereafter, the, order of taking referred to in the foregoing
vote was signed and asknowledged by the following. members of the Board:
Samuel H. Davis, Harold W. Putnam, Miles C. Higgins, Martin B. Hartshorn
and William T. Fairclough, and written notice to the following named
persons: Grace C. Nichols, Elsie J. Turner, May E. Milbury, James J.
Hurley, . R. G. and E. G. Higgins, Gertrude C. Bailey, Dora Black,E.B.
and A. S . Ralston, W. N. & M. J. Richards, and A. W. k R.K.Webster,
signed and ordered to be sent to the said persons by registered mail.;
return receipt requested. '

' Minutes re Taking of Kingston
Street Drain
Upon motion duly made and seconded
VOTED: By and under the authority of Statute 1909, Chap,
3111 and of all other law rhereunto enabling, the Board proceed to a
taking of an easement for sewer, drainage and other purposes, and of
any such works, in lands of Mildred J. Gray, Warren L. and Hazel B.
Martin, Charles F. Reid, and Walter M. and Clara A. Small, lying between
Kingston Street and Mount Vernon Street, all as set forth in an order
of taking submitted to the Board at this meeting and a plan in connection
therewith, and that said order of taking be extuted and filed to be
recorded with said plan in the Registry of Deeds for the South District
of the County of Middlesex and that written notification of said taking
' be sent to all persons interested as owners of said premises.
Thereafter, the order of taking referred to in the Sore-going
vote was signed and asknowledged by the following members of the Board:
Samuel H. Davis, Harold W. Putnam, Miles C. Higgins, Martin
B Hartshorn, and William T. Fairclough, and written notice
to the following named persons: Mildred J. Gray,Reading Co-operative
Bank, Warren L. Martin, Hazel B. Martin, Charles F. Reid, Wter M.
Small, Clara A. Small, Pioneer Co-operative Bank of Boston, and Mary
L. Alger, signed and ordered to be sent to the said persons by regis-
tered mail, return receipt requested.
