HomeMy WebLinkAbout1929-07-26 Board of Public Works Minutes ' July 26, 1929 Meeting of the Board of Public Works was held this day at the Town Building at seven-thirty P.M. There were present: Samuel H. Davis Martin B. Hartshorn William T. Fairclough The Board voted to defer the matter of the purchase of a truck until later in the year so that the Board would be sure that sufficient funds were available from the highway appropriation to pay for the same. Mr. L. H. Webster of 92 John Street appeared before the Board and requested that the drain near his premises be cleaned out. The Superintendent was instructed to take care of the matter in the near future. Mr. John W. Owen wrote a letter to .the Board calling atten- tion to the condition of the West side of South Main Street between Ash and Green Streets. The Superintendent having reported on this matter, he was instructed to write .a letter to Mr. Owen. The Board held up the matter of the approval of the plan for the extension of the gas main on Elliott Street because the extension had been already made by the Gas Company before the plan was approved. Mrs. Edward Parker of Woodward Avenue requested an abatement of her water bill and after considering the matter the Board voted not to grant such an abatement. A true record.
