March 22, 1929
Meeting og the Board of Public Works was held at 7:30 P.M.
There were present:
Samuel H. Davis
Myles B. Higgins
Martin B. Hartshorn
William T. Fairclough
Harold W. Putnam
Checks were received covering z estimated cost of installing
curbing on Pennsylavnia Ave. , and California Rd. ,and it was voted to
require a written applocation for each installation and that no
definate action on these or any new applications be taken until after
May lst.'
A letter was received from Geo. W. Davis requesting something
be done to help conditions at the corner of Willow and High Sts., . '
The matter was laid on the table until such time as it could

be investigated by the. Board or one of its members.
Reconsideration of the application for corner curbing at the
corner of Pearl and Salem Sts„ by Myra K. Parker was given, also that
of Wm. G. and Bessie H. Jeffery for corner curb at the corner of Locust
and Highland Sts. , and it was voted to make both installations.
A delegation of residents headed by Mr. Stone was received,they
desiring to know what could be done to get Longwood road repaired. It
was told to them that they must conform to the requirements of the
Survey Act which was explained to them in detail. The necessary papers
to carry out these provisions were given them and they left apparently
satisfied. '
Letter was received frog C.M.Spencer, Chairman of the School
Committee, regarding repairing the ball field previous to start of

High School team schedule. Voted to do as much work as possible, with
money available, before start of season.
Upon verbal request of the Chairman of the Finance Committee.
It was voted to ban all reports on the water system to the Finance
Committee for their use in studying conditions.
