Meeting of the Board of Public Works was held this day at
the Town Building at seven-thirty P.M.
There were present;
Harry N, Brown
Miles C. Higgins
Martin B. Hartshorn
Harold W. Putnam
Samuel H. Davis, and the
Superintendent.
Upon a hearing of this Board acting as the Board of Survey of
the laying out of Ridge Road, Mr. Leavitt and Mrs. Eastman appeared
in favor of the same and no one appeared in opposition thereto and the
Board approved the plan.
' Upon a.hearing of this Board acting as the Board of Survey of
the laying out of Bancroft Ave. , Extension on one appeared in opposi-
tion thereto and the Board approved the Plan.
Mr. Batten of Howard Street appeared before the Board relative
to the acceptance of this Street and he was informed that the Board
would have plans prepared showing the laying out of this Street and the
grade of the same and would have an article inserted in the Warrant for
the acceptance of the Street.
Mr. Proper, and other residents on Green Street, came before
the Board relative to water flowing from the Street on private land
and into the cellars and they were informed that the Board would in-
vestigate the matter and see what could be accomplished to improve the
' situation.
Mrs. Gordon and Mrs. Ide appeared before the Board requesting
that action be taken to improve the condition of the dump adjoining
Memorial Park and presented a petition calling for an abatement of

what they termed "a public nuisance". They were informed that the
Board had no jurisdiction over this private property, but that the ,
petition would be presented by this Board to the Selectmen requesting
them to take whatever action in their power to improve the situation,
Mr. DeMayo, the owner of . property at the junction of Bay
State Road and Salem Street, came before the Board seeking information
relative to the rounding of this corner by the Town and he was informed
that the Board could do nothing about the matter until they found out
about the Deed, which was to. be given to the Town and if that had
properly been taken care of the rounding of the corner would be taken
up in the Spring.
