HomeMy WebLinkAbout1928-11-24 Board of Public Works Minutes November 24, 1928. Meeting of the Board of Public Works was held this day at the ' Town Building at seven-thirty P.M. There were present:- Harry N. Brown Miles C. Higgins Martin B. Hartshorn Harold W. Putnam Samuel H. Davis, and the Superintendent. A letter was received from the Star Realty Trust requesting information with reference to the acceptance by the Town of Pinevale Avenue and Star Road and they were notified that the matter could not be placed before the Town until the next annual Town Meeting. Upon the application of George E. Horrocks for an abatement of his water and sewer bill for the premises #13 Minot Street, the Board had the meter examined and the same was found to be registering 2.1% in Mr. Horrocks favor and therefore the Board voted not to , make any abatement. The point petition of the New England Telephone & Telegraph Co. and the Municipal Light Department for permission to relocate one pole on Summer Avenue at Pennsylvania Avenue, was granted. The bids for the erection of the Mineral Street bridge were opened publicly at 8:00 P .M. and the Board voted to award the con- tract to A. Bartington, who was the lowest bidder at $8442, which bid included the creosoting of the lumber. A True Record:- Attest:- , Samuel H. Davis SECRETARY.
