HomeMy WebLinkAbout1928-10-26 Board of Public Works Minutes October 26, 1928. Meeting of the Board of Public Works was held this day at the ' Town Building at seven-thirty P.M. There were present:- Harry N. Brown Miles C. Higgins Martin B. Hartshorn Harold .W. Putnam Samuel H. Davis, and the Superintendent. A letter was received from Carl C. Prince requesting the Board to remove boulders and place stone dust on the sidewalk in front of his premises on Oak Street and also requested the grade of this street and he was notified that the Board would grant his request. The Board approved the plans of the Malden & Melrose Gas Light Co. for the extension of gas main on Summer Avenue from the present six inch gas main near Walnut Street Northwesterly to beyond Oak Street; on Pennsylvania Avenue from proposed six inch main on , Summer Ave Southerly to the end of Pennsylvania Avenue; and on California Road from proposed six inch gas main on Pennsylvania Avenue Westerly to Indiana Avenue. Mr. R. F. Heselton appeared before the Board for a further con- ference with reference to water on Coldspring Road and he stated he expected to see Mr. Landers, the purchaser of this property, to see what assistance he could obtain from him. Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTED: To purchase two snow plows for use on sidewalks, at $90.00 each. The Board discussed the matter of purchasing uniform Street signs . The Board voted to adjourn until Thursday, November 1, 1928, for the opening of the bids on the Mineral Street Bridge. A True Record:- Samuel H. Davis Attest:- SECRETARY.
