HomeMy WebLinkAbout1928-10-05 Board of Public Works Minutes October 5, 1928. Meeting of the Board of Public Works was held this day at the Town Building at seven-thirty P.M. ' There were present:- Harry N. Brown Miles C. Higgins Martin B. Hartshorn Harold W. Putnam Samuel H. Davis, and the Superintendent. Mr. Lenfest, of Hanscom Avenue, requested the Board to con- struct a sidewalk in front of her premises and she was advised that the Board would grant this request and have a sidewalk con- structed from Lowell.: Street to the house of Dr. Rounds. Mr. Merrill, of Wales Avenue, made application for water and he was informed that it would be necessary for him to comply with the Survey Act before a water main could be placed in this Street. Mr. Landers,- of Lynn, took up with the Board the matter of ob- taining water in the Streets laid out in Chapman Park Development and grade of the Streets for approval by the Board of Survey before water mains could be placed in the Streets. Mr. C. J. French, of Summer Avenue, complained of the condition of the highway in front of his premises occasioned by water standing in the same and he was advised that the Superintendent would in- vestigate and report as to what could be accomplished to improve the situation. A permit was granted to Joseph Stone to erect a sign over the sidewalk on the premises at ',8+1 Haven Street, subject to the approval of the Building Inspector as to the method of attaching the same to the building. ' A permit was granted to James Manuel to erect a sign over the sidewalk on the premises at #20P Main Street, subject to the approval of the Building Inspector as to the method of attaching the same to the building., Mr. William Killam discussed with the Board the matter of claim for damages by reasoxlo£ the sewer running through the premises owned by him on Mount Vernon Street and the Board took the same under con- sideration. Because of the holiday falling on the regular meeting night, of October 12th, the Board adjourned until Wednesday, October 10th. A True Record:- Attest:- Samuel H. Davis SECRETARY.
