HomeMy WebLinkAbout1928-07-20 Board of Public Works Minutes July 20, 1928. Meeting of the Board of Public Works was held this day at the Town Building at seven-thirty P .M. ' There were present:- Harry N. Brown Martin B. Hartshorn _ Harold W. Putnam Samuel H. Davis, and the Superintendent. At the hearing of the petition of the Municipal Light Department to erect a pole on Gilmore Avenue, southerly from Woburn Street, no one appeared in opposition thereto and the petition was granted. The joint petition of the Municipal Light Department and the New England Telephone & Telegraph Company for re-location of pole on Washington Street near High Street and the joint petition for re-location of seven poles on Elliott Street from Washington Street to Haven Street, were granted. VOTED: To repair the driveways at the Walter S. Parker Jr. ' High School, the cost of such repairs to be borne by the School Department. Mrs. Elsie J. Munnis, 7 Washington Street, requested an abate- ment on the .bill for water used at these premises and she was in- formed that the meter had been tested and that the water charged for had been properly registered by the meter. It was suggested that she take readings of the meter hereself for a period to check up for leaks and to determine the average daily consumption of water used on these premises. Mr. E. Vernon Sillars, 101 Bancroft Avenue, requested an abate- ment for his water bills for several years back and he was informed that the Board could not make the abatement because the meter had , been tested and no complaint had been received with reference to the previous water bills.
