HomeMy WebLinkAbout1928-06-29 Board of Public Works Minutes June 29, 1928. Meeting of the Board of Public Works was held this day at the Town ' Building at seven-thirty P.M. There were present:- Harry N. Brown Martin B. Hartshorn Harold W. Putnam Samuel H. Davis, and the Superintendent. At the hearing of the laying out of proposed streets, known as Virginia Road, Pennsylvania Avenue, California Road and Indiana Avenue, located south of Summer Avenue between Hopkins Street and Oak Street and shown on plan of Reading Realty Company, noone appeared in opposition thereto and Mr. Leland W. Kingman and Mr. Elmer Richardson appeared in favor of the same and the Board approved the plan showing the laying out of said streets. ' Mr. Ferguson, of the Luten Bridge Company, discussed with the Board the matter of the re-construction of the Mineral Street bridge. VOTED: To cut down the highway at the intersection of Arlington and Woburn Streets in order to lessen the depression at this intersection. The Board received a letter from the County Commissioners with reference to the relocation of Longwoods Road, requesting the Town to establish this street as a public way and the Commissioners were notified that this Board had previously taken up this matter and has prepared a plan showing the laying out of this street, but the abutters were not willing to co-operate with the Town in the matter of the taking of the land for this purpose.
