HomeMy WebLinkAbout1928-06-08 Board of Public Works Minutes June 8, 1928.' Meeting of the Board of Public Works was held this day at the Town- ' Building at seven-thirty P.M. There were present:- Harry N. Brown Miles C. Higgins Martin B. Hartshorn Harold W. Putnam Samuel H. Davis, and the Superintendent. An application £ron the residents and property owners of Dudley Street for an edge-stone, was .received offering to pay ninety cents per running foot for the curbing. Mr. Frank M. Merrill. was notified, representing the petition, that the Board could not consider the same unless the applicants offered to pay one-half the total cost of the same. The application of Herbert Hunt for the extension of the main ' line of the sewer on Pleasant Street, was referred to the Board of Health for investigation and report as to the necessity of extending the sewer because of health and sanitation. Voted: To purchase a Ford automobile for the use of the Sup- erintendent, the type and style of same to be left to his discretion. At the hearing of the laying out of proposed streets, known as Henzie Street and Criterion Street, located off of Grove Street and shown on the Plan of Grove Street Manor, no one appeared in opposition thereto and Mr. James Pettine and Anthony C. Paolino appeared in favor of the same and the Board approved the Plan showing the laying out of said streets. Voted: To purchase a guage for the standpipe to register the capacity of the water in the tank. -2- Mr. 2 Mr. H. R. Johnson appeared beforetheBoard regarding the culvert that crosses under Vine Street, stating that same did not drain off properly and that two houses in the vicinity had water standing in the cellar which came from the culvert.
