HomeMy WebLinkAbout1928-05-18 Board of Public Works Minutes May 18, 1928. Meeting of the Board of Public Works was held this day at the Town ' Building at seven-thirty P.M. There were present:- Miles C. Higgins Martin B. Hartshorn Harold W. Putnam Samuel H. Davis, and the Superintendent. In the absence of the Chairman, Mr. Miles C. Higgins was elected temporary Chairman for this meeting. Mr. E. J. Roundy presented to the Board a petition for permanent side-walks on Village Street signed by several of the abutters and he was informed that the petition would be placed on file and the matter would be given consideration in the near future. The Town Counsel discussed with the Board the matter of placing a water main in Lewis Street, issuing permits forsigns and the ' proposed taking of land at the corner of West and Woburn Streets. The plan of the Malden & Melrose Gas Light Company for the ex- tension of gas main in Vista Avenue was approved by the Board. A letter was received from Roger D. Gale requesting a curbing to be placed at the corner of Dudley and Deering Streets and he was informed that the Board would grant this request. A permit was granted the Malden & Melrose Gas Light Company to place a sign on the premises at 179-B Main Street in accordance with the proposed sketch submitted with the application. The Com- pany was informed that the matter of attaching the sign to the building would have to meet the requirements of the Building Inspector. A True Record:- Attest:- Samuel H. Davis SECRETARY. J
