Meeting of the Board of Public Works was held this day at the Town
Building at seven-thirty P.M.
There were present:-
Harry N. Brown
Miles C. Higgins
Martin B. Hartshorn
Harold W. Putnam
Samuel H. Davis, and the
Superintendent.
A letter was received .from the Reading Wet Wash Laundry asking
for an extension of time for the payment of the water bill, and it
was voted to grant an extension up to and including May 18, 1928.
At a hearing of the laying out of a proposed street, known as
Weston Road, under the Board of Survey Act, no one appeared in
opposition thereto and Mr. R. W. Woodward appeared in favor of the
same, and the Board postponed the approval of the plan until the
application was signed by all property owners on this proposed street.
The bids for the construction and the materials for storm water
drains were opened publicly at 8:00 P.M. The contract for the
donstructlon was held in abeyance until the next meeting of the
Board and the certified checks of the six lowest bidders were retained
pending the awarding of the contract. The Clinton Foundry Co. was
awarded the contract for furnishing and delivering the cast iron
manhole and catch basin castings, who bid was $324.95.
