Meeting of the Board of Public Works was held this day at the '
Town Building at seven-thirty P.M.
There were present:-
John W. Owen,
Miles C. Higgins,
Chester J. Wallace,
Harry N. Brown,
Samuel H. Davis , and the
Superintendent.
Mr. Leonard G. Nichols discussed with the Board the matter of
the payment of the bill for damage to the hydrant at the corner of
Sanborn and Lowell Streets, as a result of the accident which
occurred on July 4, 1927, and requested the Board to make a discount,
and he was informed that the Board would take the matter up and let
him know of the action taken later.
Mr. Merle W. Farr, 59 West Street, called to the attention '
of the Board the conditions at the corner of West and Woburn Sts. ,
and stated that some new houses were going up on the corner, which
would make it a blind corner and requested the Board to take some
action to improve the sLtuation, and he was informed that the Board
would investigate the matter and take whatever action deemed necessary.
Mr. Farr also took up with the Board the matter of a proposed street
to be laid out off of West St. through the property owned by him, and
the Board notified him that there was no objection to the laying out
of the proposed street in the center of his lot as indicated on the
plan, providing the same was accomplished in accordance with the
rules and regulations of the Board of Survey.
The Board voted to purchase two desks with drawers suitable ,
for cards of the Water Department and Sewer Department, and turn in
the two old desks now in use.
