HomeMy WebLinkAbout1927-11-11 Board of Public Works Minutes November 11, 1927. Meeting of the Board of Public Works was held this day at the Town Building at seven-thirty P.M. There were present:- John W. Owen Miles C. Higgins Chester J. Wallace Harry N. Brown, and the Superintendent. Mr. Lincoln representing the Sargent Sidewalk Snowplow presented to the Board the facts concerning his plow and submitted a price of $1610.00 for his plow complete. Mrs. Fannie C. Nichols, the present owner of the property at Franklin Street and Van Norden Road, discussed with the Board the matter of the proposed line, making Van Norden Road, a forty foot ' street. Mr. Hill of West Street appeared before the Board again with reference to the water from the street flowing on to his property. It being the opinion of the Board that the water which flows on his property comes from the street, the superintendent was instructed to ditch our the brook for a sufficient distance to remedy this situation, first obtaining a permit from the property owners to go upon their land in order to accomplish this. Mr. Anderson took up with the Board the matter of the situation with reference to Woodbine Street. The Board, acting as a Board of Survey, approved seven plans of proposed streets of the Burgess`Wadsworth development on the northerly side of Lowell Street. A petition was signed by the Board directed to the Commissioners of Middlesex County to appropriate $2600.00 with a similar amount from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for relocation and repairs November 11, 1927. of Woburn Street from Lowell to Chute Street. , A True Record:- Attest:- Samuel H.
