HomeMy WebLinkAbout1927-07-01 Board of Public Works Minutes July 1, 1927. Meeting of the Board of Public Works was held this day at the Town Building at seven-thirty P .M. ' There were present:- John W. Owen Chester J. Wallace Harry N. Brown Samuel H. Davis, and the Superintendent. A letter was received from the New England Telephone & Telegraph Company with reference to certain alleged damages to an underground pipe and cable on Woburn Street, amounting to $50.90, and the Company was informed that the Town disclaimed any liability forthisalleged damage, and the bill for the same was returned. A letter was received from H. F. Gouch with reference to the condition of his sidewalk in front of the premises at 21 School Street. He was notified that the Board would look into the matter and ' advise him of the action taken. Mr. William R. Day appeared before the Board requesting a curb to be installed at the corner of School and Dudley Streets, stating that the vehicles cut in over the sidewalk and on to his lawn. He was informed that the Board would attend to this matter. Mr. Steele appeared before the Board with reference to the approval of a plan, showing the laying out of a proposed street off of Woburn Street, and he was instructed what modifications the Board desired before the plan could be approved. Mr. Granger Carroll appeared before the Board with reference to the drain to be installed in Prescott Stre^t, apprehending that his cellar would be flooded, by reason of a larger volume of water coming through the culvert into the open drain, which ran across ' his land, and he was told that the Town would take care of any overflow through this open drain.
