HomeMy WebLinkAbout1927-06-10 Board of Public Works Minutes June 10, 1927. Meeting of the Board of Public Works was held this day at the Town ' Building at seven-thirty P.M. There were Present:- John W. Owen Miles C. Higgins Chester J. Wallace Harry N. Brown Samuel H. Davis , and the Superintendent. Mr. Y. Franklin Burnham, Chairman of the Planning Board, and Mr. Parker met with the Board with reference to the improvement of Reading Square; and after discussion it was voted to withhold action for two weeks, to give the Planning Board an apportunity to look into the matter further. Mr. Steele appeared before the Board, submitting a sketch of plan to develop a parcel of land on the southerly side of Woburn ' Street, showing the laying out of a proposed street, and he was informed that if a proper plan was, submitted to the Board, the same would undoubtedly be approved. Residents from Longwoods Road appeared before the Board asking the Board to install a water main in this street. They were informed that it would be necessary for them to comply with the law and file a plan to be approved by the Board of Survey, showing the laying out of Longwoods Road, and then grade the street in accordance with the plan submitted, before the Board could lay a water main in this highway, and the Board voted, upon the payment of $3.00 from each of the residents on this street, whose houses were not already connected with water, that a temporary 1 1/4" main would be installed with a faucet at the end of the same for use through the summer months.
