HomeMy WebLinkAbout1927-05-27 Board of Public Works Minutes May 27, 1927. Meeting of the Board of Public Works was held this day at the Town Building at seven-thirty P.M. There were present:- John W. Owen Miles C. Higgins Chester J. '.Wallace Harry N. Brown Samuel H. Davis, and the ;Superintendent. Mr. William H. Kimball, 36 Prescott Street, appeared before the Board with reference to the condition of the sidewalk in front of his premises, stating, that the water settled on the sidewalk and drained on to his land. He was informed that the Superintendent _ would investigate the matter and make a report as to what action . should be taken. Applications were received from Marry G. Condon, 13P West Street, and Edith Batchelder, 136 West Street, requesting the Town to pay one-half the cost of constructing a tar sidewalk in front of their premises and they were notified that the Board would consider the matter, and would let them know the action taken. The bids for the construction and the materials for sewers and drains were opened publicly at eight P.M. The contract for the construction of sewers and drains was awarded to A. Cefalo, who was the lowest bidder at $9,854. 50. C. H. Spring Co. was awarded contract for furnishing sewer pipe, B. Nicoll & Company for the furnishing of cast iron pipe, and Clinton Foundry Company for furnishing, the iron castings. A True Record:- Attest:- Samuel ecord:- Attest:- Samuel H. Davis SECRETARY.
