HomeMy WebLinkAbout1927-04-08 Board of Public Works Minutes April R, 1927. Meeting of the Board of Public Works was held this day at the Town ' Building at seven-thirty P.M. There were present:- John W. Owen Miles C. Higgins Chester J. Wallace Harry N. Brown Samuel H. Davis, and the Superintendent. Attorney Edward G. Quinlan anneared before the Board in behalf of Max M. Gould and Harry Lillie, with reference to improving the sidewalk in front of the new stores on Main and Haven Streets. After considering the matter, ,the Board voted to construct a new tar side- walk on Main and Haven Streets , and reset the edge stone, and assess the owners one-half the costs of constructing the same. Property owners interested in obtaining water for Van Norden Road appeared before the Board and they were advised that the Board had no funds to do this work as no money appropriation was made by the Town, by virtue of the vote passed at the last Town Meeting. Upon a hearing of a Petition of the New England Telephone& Telegraph Company to place one anchor guy on Lowell Street from Dustin Street northwesterly approximately 110 feet, and one anchor guy on Lowell Street from Willow Street northwesterly approximately RO feet, and no objection appearing thereto, it was voted to grant such petition. The Board granted the joint petition which was presented by the New England Telephone & Telegraph Company and the Municipal Light Department to relocate a pole on Prescott Street. ' It was voted to purchase two Chevrolet trucks for the use of the department. A True Record:- Attest:- Samuel H. Davis SECRETARY.
