HomeMy WebLinkAbout1927-04-01 Board of Public Works Minutes April ]., . 1927• Meeting of the Board of Public Works was held this day at the Town Building at seven-thirty P.M. ' There were present:- John W. Owen Miles C. Higgins Chester J. Wallace Harry N. Brown Samuel H. Davis, and the Superintendent. The Board considered the proposition of purchasing the sand for the needs of the Town from Henry A. Feindel, and it was voted to purchase the sand required at 750 a yard screened and loaded, until such time as other arrangements are made for the purchase of sand pit. A letter was received from H. Ravmond Johnson calling the attention of the Board to the drainage condition existing in his neighborhood, and he was advised that the Board would take the matter under consideration and report to him later. , A further communication was received from Mr. H. Raymond Johnson with reference to improving the sidewalk on the southerly side of Pleasant Street. He was advised that the Board would reset the edge stone and resurface the walk in due course. The Superintendent was instructed to arrange with the Worthington Pump Company to get a compressor to take the ledge or rocks out of certain highways, with the privilege of purchasing the same. The amount charted for the use of the compressor to apply on account of the purchase price, and, if not purchased, to pay for the hire of the same. The Superintendent was instructed to obtain estimates for the painting of the stand-pipe. ' A True Record:- Attest:- Samuel H. Davis SECRETARY.
