' Members present: John W. Owen, Joseph W. Booth, Frank C. Carter,
Samuel Hobbs , M. C. Higgins, and the Superintendent.
The first estimate of work performed on the Forest Street water
main extension by Cefalo was approved. The amount was $2,1114.46.
Mr. Collins.was instructed to pay the cost of the Prescott Street
culvert from the Highway Department appropriation.
The New 3ngland Telephone & Telegraph Company and the Municipal
Light Board were given a hermit for a joint location with the Eastern
Massachusetts Street Railway Company on 30 poles on South Main Street
from the Boston & Maine Railroad crossing to the Stoneham line.
Mr. Lee Webster of Green Street met with the Board in regard to
cleaning out the ditch off Green Street running northerly to Eaton
_ Street. The situation is to be investigated and connected, if possible.
Mrs Carter reported that Ernest T. Wakefield is willing to sell
his gravel bank to the Town. Mr. Collins was instructed to measure
the bank and estimate the n.uantity so that the Board may ascertain
its value.
The New England Road Machinery Company has made an offer of
$800.00 for the stone crusher equipment on Willow Street, to be
applied on the purchase of a loader. Mr. Hobbs and Mr. Collins are
to investigate the different types of loaders on the market.
