M. C. Higgins , and the Superintendent.
Instructions were issued to Louis Balboni to discontinue the
use of GK Compound, and use cement in its place. Balboni had made
a claim for extra labor in using the GK Compound, and it was the
decision of the Board that it was not necessary, and its use
therefore was discontinued.
E. H. Hurd has submitted prices for gravel from his bank off
Lowell St. near the Railroad Bridge, and the offer was taken under
donsideration, but no action was taken.
Quotation was received from H. E. Fletcher Co. of Chelmsford
on granite curbing. The prices which he offered were vert* low, and
are made a part of this record for future reference:
' 7x18 curbing x¢1.00 per ft
Radius 1. 50 per linear ft.
2' dorners 5.00 each
f.o.b. West Chelmsford.
Contracts for the reconstruction of Prescott St. were opened
at the State House on Tuesday, June 8. M. McDonough & Co. of
Swamscott were awarded the contract, at an estimated cost of
$12,800. , work to begin about July first.
Mr. Barbour has made a start on the investigation of the
Wilmington water proposition, and has communicated with the
Wilmington Water Boatd, asking for reports and records and the
opportunity to go over the ground with their engineer.
A letter was written to Mr. Leavitt, of the Eastern Mass. St.
Railway Co. ordering him to relocate two poles in front of the
Municipal Building at once. This change is made necessary by the
construction of the new sidewalk.
The question of changing the corners of Woburn and Lowell Sts.
to 20' radius was discussed and approved by the Board. This work
is to be done at once, so that it will conform with the new sidewalk
which is being constructed.
