Members present: John 11. Owen, Joseph Booth, M. C. Higgins
Frank Carter and the Superintendent.
It was voted to construct an A" sewer for approximately 275 ft.
westerly (towards West St) from present and of the sewer on Prescott
St. The estimated cost of this work is "600.00 net after deducting
betterments.
The Superintendent made a report of the progress on the regular
highwav maintainence work.
Mrs. Sarah Haigh of 6 Ash St. appeared and made a claim for
injuries received on Wednesday evening May 26, caused by falling
over a root projecting out of the side walk in front of the public
building. The matter was turned over to the Town Counsel later
' in the evening.
The Board discussed the possibilities of obtaining a gravel
bank if the uresent negotiations with Mrs . Besse did not go through.
It was the opinion of the Board that the amount offered namely
3500 dollars for approximately one acre (20,000 cubic yards) on Mrs .
Basse's property, was a fair offer and should not be raided.
The Board discussed the Wilmington water supply situation and
it was decided to enga?e .the services of Mr. Barbour to investigate
the situation and report to the Board.
Voted to adjourn.
