Members present: John W. Gwen, Jos. Booth, Frank Carter,
M. C. Higgins and the Superintendent.
Mr. Davis appeared before the Board regarding, the layout of
the proposed Wanda Court, off Woburn St. , and the Board approved
the tentative plans for the development, as shown by blue print.
Mr. Marden, of the Boston & Maine R. R. presented a plan for
the combining of the Ash St. and Main St. crossings. This matter
was discussed by the Board, but the plan was not approved as it did
not seem feasible because of the traffic conditions.
The Municipal Light Department and the Eastern Massachusetts
Street Railway Company were granted permission to relocate poles on
Main St. side walk, also to relocate one pole at the junction of
Main and Harnden St.
Mr. Alexander of Green St. appeared at the meeting and urged
that repairs be made as promptly as rossible on the lower end of
Green St. He was advised that work would be done at..a very early
date, as it was the intention of the Superintendent to remove the
highway equipment to that section of the town at once.
Mr. Weston of the Planning Board consulted with the Board in -
regard to the building ofthe granolithic walk around the public
buildings . It was recommended to bring the walk up flush to the wall
and to leave a tree lawn between the walk and the curb. As soon as
this recommendation received the anproval of the Selectmen and
Planning Board, will advertise for bids for the work.
Otis Ruggles , Chairman of the Finance Committee, appeared and
' discussed the probability of any additional improvements which
would necessitate the issuing of bonds in the next few years.
Mr. Litchfield of Mineral St. requested the improvement of the
sidewalk adjacent to his property. The Superintendent was instructed
to do the work as quickly as possible.
Three residents of Temple St. were notified that pipes in
the gutters under their drive ways would have to be removed. This
was made necessary by the resurfacing of the street. They were
also informed that the regrading of the street would make these
pines no longer necessary.
Mr. Collins estimated the cost of the culvert across Prescott
St. at $1500.00.
