HomeMy WebLinkAbout1926-04-23 Board of Public Works Minutes April 23, 1926. Members present: John W. Owen, Joseph Booth, Frank Carter, M. C. Higgins and the Superintendent. The plan and profile of Prospect St. and Longview Road approved. A proposed plan of the changes in the Ash St. and Main St. crossing, presented by the Boston & Maine R. R. was not approved. A form of contract for water main installation, made up by the Town Counsel and the Superintendent, was brought in and approved. A notice was received from the Chief Engineer, Division of Highways , that no money would be allowed for the regrading of Woburn St. and Willow St. from the 1926 appropriation. Plans for the Highway Maintainence Department work were discussed by the Board. Dana Perkins of Deering St. appeared at the meeting, and outlined ' the situation in regard to streets in his location. It was decided to view this situation personally on Monday, April 26. It was voted to defer the regrading of Woburn St. indefinitely. It was voted to regrade Prescott St. and to obtain the services of the State Highway Department in furnishing the plans for the work, and having, an inspector on the Job. The Town Counsel discussed with the Board the pending suit against the Town b,, Messrs. Smith and Chamberlain. The Superintendent was instructed to advertise for bids for the Forest St. water main extension. It was voted to have copies of "Rules and Regulations of the Board of Survey" printed for distribution. Respectfully submitted, M. C. Higgins SECRETARY.
