HomeMy WebLinkAbout1926-01-08 Board of Public Works Minutes Meeting of the Board of Public Works Jan. 8th, 1926 IPresent: Mr. Owen, Mr. Kinsley, Mr. Carter and the Superintendent. A distribution of financial standing of all Departments was turned in by the Sunt. with recommended appropriations for the coming year, the latter to be used before the Finance Committee on Monday evening, Jan 11th. The above was discussed to some length and the Board took particular note of the improved drainage account. They passed a vote for $13,000.00 for improved drainage for 1926. The Superintendent handed in also, sketches covering the above work and prospective sewer work for the coming year. The new drainage plans were also on hand of work accomplished to date. Recommendations for salaries for 1926 was handed in by the Supt. and approved by the Board. Two permits were issued. One to the N.E.T.& T. Co. to remove one pole at Main St. from Haven St. southerly; the other to the Municipal Light Dept. to construct one pole on Belmont St. , northerly from pole #9/4 For the Finance Committee meeting Monday evening, Mr. Owen recuested the Supt, to list the names of streets on which sidewalk work had been done, aid give also tonnage of stone, length of work approximately, and costs . Mr. Bent, tAe Town Accountant was asked if the superfluous account left over from improved drainage from 1925 could be carried forward to 1926. His answer was affirmative. He was also asked if the balance from the Libby Ave. water main construction could be used on further extension of water mains in other parts of the town, and he stated not until the Forest St. water main had been constructed since the bonds issue was appropriated specifically for that nurpose.
