grades of four proposed roads in the Sturges Trust Development. Chairman
Johnson announced that, as all interested abutters were present, the duly
advertised public hearings on all four street layouts would be held con-
currently.
Secretary Donahue then read the following Notices of Public Hearings:
OAKRIDGE ROAD EXTENSION: Acceptance of lines and grades from the present
terminus of Oak Ridge Road in a Southerly direction to a dead ehd at land
of the Town of Reading.
ASH HILL ROAD: Acceptance of lines and grades from Maple Ridge Road South-

Arthur Ray, of Woburn, Mass., Attorney for Mrs. Eleanor T. (Ray) Kim-
ball, 59 Oak Ridge Road, stated that the proposed development "is all swamp-
`, .land, which is a statement of fact, and not suitable for building unless
kw they build slab homes on fill in swamp-land. Objects, to continuation of
Oak Ridge Road."
Mr. William T. Lydstone, Jr., 70 Oak Ridge Road, presented the fol-
lowing petition to the Board of Survey:
1-19-1957
PETITION
T0 : The Board of Survey, Reading, Massachusetts.
SUBJECT: Extension of Oak fudge Road .
We, the undersigned property owners of Oak Ridge Road in the Town
of Reading petition the Board of Survey of the Town of Reading to disa-
pprove any proposed extension of Oak Ridge Road at this time.
We so petition for the following reasons:
1. The plans originally drawn for the development of 'Oak Ridge
Road did not provide for further extension because of the
drop of approximately twenty feet beyond the present termin-
ation of the road.
2. The property owners taking title to property on the present
Oak Ridge Road were assured that there would be no extension
of the present boundary.
3. There will be a traffic hazard created by the difference in
grade between the existing road and the proposed extension
that is unnecessary and would endanger the safety of the
resident children; that there are more feasible and safeb
means of access to the area to be developed.
Respectfully submitted,
