HomeMy WebLinkAbout1964-10-19 Board of Survey Minutes tow October 19, 1961E Meeting of the Board of Survey opened at 8:3o P.M. in Room 16, Municipal Building. Present were Chairman Kenney, Secretary Cochrane, Board Members Florence, Leonard and Watt, and Superintendent Welch. The Board conferred with Richard Merrill, Developer of Woodland Street Extension regarding the uncompleted work. Ex- tension had been granted to October 15, 1964. Mr. Merrill agreed to clear the road of debris, set castings in correct position, place gravel and oil the gravel. Final surfacing of bituminous . concrete will be applied in the Spring of 1965. Abuttors will be notified. Read letter from Barry V. Taylor, Trustee, Victorian Trust, regarding completion of Melbourne Avenue and Cumberland Road, and the Superintendents comments thereto. Mr. Leonard moved, Mr. Florence seconded and it was voted that a letter be drafted stating the facts of the situation and sent to all property owners on Cumberland Road. Read letter from Lucien Morel, President, Morel Con- struction Company requesting release of bond for wall on Robin Road, and note from Mr. Welch. According to the Superintendent, the wall at the easterly end has cracked open about one-half inch but does not show any signs of imminent collapse. It was agreed that Mr. Morel be requested to place caulking material in the crack and the bond then be released. The Board discussed the installation of water services in developments prior to the completion date. Mr. Watt moved, it was seconded and voted that the following be added to the Performance Bond: - 139. Water Services - The Developer agrees that he will ea gnats s ocation for a water service for each and every lot not later than a date four (4) months prior to the completion date specified in the bond regard- less of whether or not construction of a residence has been started on the lot. The Developer further agrees that in cases where the water service is installed to the street line prior to the construction of the resi- dence, he will accept a straight extension when the residence is constructed. Where the word straight is used, it does not necessarily mean perpendicular to the water main. The service may be at an angle to the main providing it is straight. The Developer further agrees to pay to the Town the cost of installing the service, or any part thereof, either prior to December 31 of the year the service or any part thereof is installed, or just prior to the day he wishes the water turned on, whichever comes first.
