Present were Chairman Kenney, Secretary Cochrane, Board Members Florence and Watt and Superintendent Welch. Public hearing was held regarding the acceptance of lines and grades of Osborne Avenue which runs from Pleasant Street in a northerly direction, a distance of 522 feet more or less to a dead end. Mr. James T. Putnam telephoned to state that due to ill- ness he would be unable to attend the hearing to represent Mr. and Mrs. Edward Small. The Board of Survey had been advised by the Board of Health that it disapproved the plan due to raw sewage seeping into the open brook which passes through the proposed sub- division. Therefore, Mr. Florence moved, Mr. Cochrane seconded and it was voted that the proposed plan on Osborne Avenue off Pleasant Street be disapproved. The Board conferred with Mr. and Mrs. James C. Nagel, 5 James Road, regarding the erection by Mr. L. J. Peabody, De- veloper, of a retaining well on their property abutting Whitehall Lane. Mr. Nagel was informed that the Board of Survey could not force either Mr. Peabody or Mr. Kiley to build the retaining wall which he desires. The Board signed agreements between the Board of Survey of the Town of Reading and Dana Realty, Inc. covering Colonial Estates and between the Board of Survey of the Town of Reading and Reading Development Corporation covering Franklin Estates. The agreement between the Board of Survey and Charles B. Stamatis Building Inc. covering Belmont Park Development was not signed. Mr. Stamatis will be invited to confer with the Board on July 20 at 7:30 P.M, for further discussion of the Sub- division. Meeting adjourned at 8:50 P.M. Respectfully submitted am^ Be re ry
