HomeMy WebLinkAbout1963-07-15 Board of Survey Minutes July 15, 1963 Meeting of the Board of Survey was held at 8:00 P.M. in Room 16, Municipal Building. Present were Chairman Watt, Secretary Kenney, Board Mem- bers Cochrane, Florence and Leonard, and Superintendent Welch. Public hearing was held at 8:00 P.M. regarding the lines and grades of Whittier Road Extension. Mr. James T. Putnam repre- sented the developers, Edward Small and Martha Small. The previously approved extension of Whittier Road bears in a more easterly direction than that proposed by Mr. Small. Mr. Small's layout follows the approximate location of the utili- ties within the street. The rules and regulations of the Board of Survey require a 50-foot road. Due to the short extension to a dead-end, it would be more practical to have a 40-foot roadway width. Mr. Leonard moved that the plan be tentatively approved; Mr. Cochrane seconded and the motion carried. Final hearing will be scheduled for August 26, 1963. Hearing adjourned at 8:10 P.M. Read letter from E & M Construction, Inc. , Lucien Morel, Treasurer, dated June 26, 1963, outlining the following proposed schedule to complete Robin Road: - Week of July 1, 1963 - 011 road It " n 8, 1963 - Hot top road it " " 15, 1963 - Sidewalk and grass plot to be completed The first item has been completed. It was felt that the scheduled completion date could not be met. Mr. Florence moved that a letter signed by the Chairman be sent to the developer stating that the work be accomplished in accordance with the schedule contained in his letter of June 26; it was seconded and voted. Meeting adjourned at 8:15 P.M. Respectfully submitted, Secretary
