HomeMy WebLinkAbout1963-06-24 Board of Survey Minutes June 24, 1963 Meeting of the Board of Survey opened at 7:4.5 P.M. in Room 16, Municipal Building. Present were Chairman Watt, Secretary Kenney, Board Members Cochrane, Florence and Leonard, and Superintendent Welch. Public hearing was held at 7:45 P.M. regarding the re- vision of lines and grades of a part of James Road, which runs from Gleason Road in a Northwesterly direction, a distance of 425.00 feet more or less. Mr. Welch informed the Board that the original Board of Survey Plans required a cul-de-sac. With the development of James Road from Whitehall Lane by L. J. Peabody, the cul-de-sac may now be eliminated. Richard and Ralph Morel attended the meeting and voted 4 in favor of the revision. Mr. Kenney moved that the revision as outlined be ap- proved; Mr. Cochrane seconded and it was voted. (See Plan 300-M-145) The hearing concluded at 7;50 P.M. The Board conferred at 8:45 P.M. with Lucien Morel re- garding completion of Robin Road. Mr. Morel was accompanied by his contractor, Mr. Wilkinson. Mr. Morel explained the construction of a retaining wall which is being rebuilt. The durability was questioned by Mr. Welch. Mr. Morel was requested by theBoardto confer with Mr. Wilkinson and submit a written schedule for completion of the work. The Board will visit the area and discuss the findings of the Board at the next meeting, after which Mr. Morel will be ad- vised. Read letter from Fred and Ellen Nelson, developers of Blueberry Lane regarding completion date, and Mr. Welch' s com- ments in relation thereto. It was moved, seconded and voted that the developers be advised to apply one coat of oil to the travelled section of the road, after which arrangements may be made to reschedule construction. Read letter from Edward C. Small and Martha L. Small requesting release of performance bond for Tennyson Circle in the amount of $500.00. The street was accepted as a public way at the 1962 Town Meeting; therefore, Mr. Leonard moved the bond be released to Mr. Small; Mr. Florence seconded and the motion carried.
