HomeMy WebLinkAbout1961-06-12 Board of Survey Minutesr June 12, 1961 • Meeting of the Board of Survey opened at 8:30 P.M. in Room 16, Municipal Building. Present were Chairman Florence, Secretary Leonard, Board Members Hodson and Watt, Superintendent Welch and Civil Engineer Boutiette. Final Hearing was held regarding the lines and grades of thefollowing streets:- VICTORIA AVENUE which runs from Summer Avenue in a or eiR as�yirection, a distance of 1015.00 feet more or less to Sunnyside Avenue; CUMBERLAND ROAD which runs from Victoria Avenue in a Southeasterly airection, a distance of 540.00 feet more or less to Melbourne Avenue; KENSINGTON AVENUE which runs from Victoria Avenue in • a Southeasterly airection, a distance of 425.00 feet more or less to Melbourne Avenue; MELBOURNE AVENUE which runs from Summer Avenue in an Easterly direction, a distance of 827.00 feet more or less to a dead end; SUNNYSIDE AVENUE which runs from the present end of Sunnyside v� in a Southerly direction, a distance of 730.00 feet more or less to a dead end. Seventeen persons attended the meeting; eleven voted in favor, none opposed and one non-committal. Technical questions were asked of and answered by the Board Members and Superintendent Welch. The interested parties were informed that the Board of Survey requires sewer easement be obtained by Pallotta in the name of the Town of Reading from Reading Greenhouses to extend from the end of Melbourne Avenue to the existing sewer at Park Avenue (Public Way); I G One Thousand ($1,000.00) dollar check in part payment of the cost incurred by the Town in lowering of the ditch; Executed deeds from Newhouse, Killam and Reading Green- houses for properties which are included within the Subdivision Plan as submitted; and In the attested copy of agreement between Pallotta & Son Development Inc. and Reading Greenhouses, the following change should be made - That a definite date be established for the completion of construction of Sunnyside Avenue Extension. Mr. Nigro, Attorney for Pallotta & Son Development Inc. presented letter containing affidavit of Pallotta & Son Develop- ment Inc. and copies of agreements between said Developer and James W. Killam, III, Charles W. Newhouse and the Reading Green- houses. The deeds from Reading Greenhouses to Pallotta are in the possession of Mr. Nigro and will be recorded after endorse- ment of the plans by the Board of Survey. Mr. Leonard moved that the plans presented by Pallotta & Son Development Inc. be accepted with the provision they meet the requirements set forth by the Board of Survey and the Town Counsel. Mr. Watt seconded and it was voted. Read note from Superintendent regarding cost to the Developer for underground utilities . Mr. Leonard moved, Mr.Watt seconded and it was voted to table the item for two weeks. Meeting adjourned at 9:20 P.M. Respectfully submitted, Secretary
