HomeMy WebLinkAbout1961-03-29 Board of Survey Minutes March 29, 1961 ` Meeting of the Board of Survey opened at 7:35 P.M. in Room 14, Municipal Building. Present were Chairman Florence, Secretary Ames, Board Members Leonard, Hodson and Watt, Superintendent Welch and Civil Engineer Boutiette. Public Hearing was held regarding proposed changes in the Rules and Regulations of the Board of Survey. No persons attended. A discussion followed. Mr. Hodson moved that all future Board of Survey Plans shall show the proposed location of all proposed utilities, including water, electricity, telephone and gas, whether underground or overhead. If any utility is not shown on the plan, the developer shall furnish a written state- ment from the applicable utility company stating that they do not ` intend to install the said utility in the development. Mr. Leonard seconded and the motion carried. It was moved, seconded and unanimously voted that the proposed new master set of regulations for the Board of Survey be approved. Preliminary Hearing was held regarding the lines and grades of the following streets: - VICTORIA ROAD which runs from Summer Avenue in a North- easte�rection, a distance of 1015.00 feet more or less to Sunnyside Avenue; CUMBERLAND ROAD which runs from Victoria Avenue in e Southeasterly direction, a distance of 540.00 feet more or less to Melbourne Avenue; KENSINGTON AVENUE which runs from Victoria Avenue in a Southeasterly direction, a distance of 425.00 feet more ` or less to Melbourne Avenue; MELBOURNE AVENUE which runs from Summer Avenue in an Easterly direction, a distance of 1180.00 feet more or less to a dead and; SUNNYSIDE AVENUE which runs from the present and of Sun- nyside Avenue a Southerly direction, a distance of 730.00 feet more or less to a dead end; "WAY" which runs in a Southerly direction from Fairview Avenue Extension, a distance of 580.00 feet more or less to Melbourne Avenue; FAIRVIEW AVENUE which runs in an Easterly direction from t e-present esent end of Fairview Avenue, a distance of 295.00 feet more or less to a dead and. Attending the meeting were the following: Messrs. Carl Amon, Ernest Nigro, Antonio Pallotta, Sr. , Antonio Pallotta, Jr. , Harold Christensen, Paul Ferranti and Alfred Gargaro. Mr. Welch commented on recommended changes in the Sub- division plans. `r The Board recommended that the sewer siphon be elimi- nated and the lowering of the ditch and a culvert substituted. Since 1100 feet of the ditch to be lowered is on private property and the cost of lowering this ditch is estimated to be $2,500.00, the Board requested both petitioners to participate financially to some extent in this cost. The petitioners than requested a recess for discussion. Upon resumption of the Hearing, the pe- titioners requested the meeting be adjourned until 8:00 P.M. , April 10, 1961, at which time they will submit a statement rela- tive to their participation in the costs of lowering the ditch.
