Board - Committee - Commission - Council: Trails Committee 2113 OCT -3 AM 9: 33 Date: 2019-09-17 Time: 7:00 PM Building: Reading Town Hall Location: Berger Room Address: 16 Lowell Street Purpose: General Business Session: Attendees: Members - Present: Tom Gardiner Jean Jacobs Kathy Kelly Ben Ream Members- Not Present: John Parsons Dave Williams Will Finch Others Present: Kim Honetschlager - Town Representative John Godwin - Boy Scout John Galvin - Boy Scout leader Minutes Respectfully Submitted By: Jean Jacobs Topics of Discussion: The meeting was called to order at 7:05pm. 1. Minutes from the meeting on July 2, 2019 were reviewed and approved. 2. Alligator Alley Replacement Boy Scout Project John Godwin presented his project to replace 30 feet of boardwalk at Alligator Alley in the Town Forest. He has not yet determined which 30 foot section will be replaced but the one in the worst shape will be done (probably closest to the Council Ring). He is using 4X4 design and hopes to do the project in October or November 2019. The Reading Trails Committee voted in favor of this project. 3. Work Day - Sep 21 • Friday (Sep 20) - prep day 0 2 - Spm at the cabin o Cut decking o Kathy, Ben, Will, and Tom can make it • Saturday (Sep 21) o RTC meet at cabin at gam o Kathy will be late so she will bring soda, water, snacks, and will get the pizza for lunch o Bridge is the biggest part (Will, Chuck - leaders) o All (including volunteers) carry in materials to bridge site, glulams first Page I 1 o If we get to Hunt Street end - clear and blaze trail o Need generator on site o Kathy will bring a few tarps (to catch saw dust) 4. Mass Trails Conference Agenda has not yet been determined. If we attend, we can pay and then get reimbursed from Trails Committee budget.
