HomeMy WebLinkAbout1984-08-20 Board of Survey Minutes Board of Survey Meeting of August 20, 1984 Page I A meeting of the Board of Survey convened in the Meeting Room of the Reading Public library at 9:51 P.N. Present were Chairman Barker, Secretary Hampson, Board Members Polychrones, Griffin and Wood and Superintendent Anthony V. Fletcher. The Board met with Attorney D. Bradley Latham to discuss the acceptance of a new Performance Bond and release of the previous t Performance Bond on Lilah Lane. Chairman Barker stated I refuse to act on this matter tonight, having seen the material for the first time this evening. Attorney Latham stated we have delivered to Mr. Redford tonight a bank book and an Assignment to the Town in the amount of approximately $134,000.00. Our objective is to release the previous Performance Bond + and accept a new Performance Bond for Phase I and Phase II. Asst. Superintendent Redford stated the Department prefers to have one bond covering all of the work on one contiguous road. We don't oppose one bond. After much discussion, it was moved, seconded and voted 4:0: 1 (Mr. Barker abstaining) to accept the Performance Bond for Lilah Lane comprising both Phase I and Phase II in the amount of $135,000 and to release the previous Performance Bond for Phase I. Mr. Griffin stated I would prefer to have this before me in the future and if I find something unclear, I can find ways to make it clear. Board of Survey Meeting of August 20, 1984 Page 2 ' It was moved, seconded and voted 3:0:2 (Mr. Barker and Mrs. Wood abstaining) to release restrictions on Phase II - Lilah Lane. The Town of Reading - Board of Survey - releases Lots 4A, A, 8, C, D and E on said Lilah Lane from the Building Restrictions and Conveyance Restrictions of a Covenant Agreement between Rivers Development Corporation and the Board of Survey of the Town of Reading, Massachusetts dated August 2, 1984 recorded with Middlesex South District Registry of Deeds.
