�. A meeting of the Board of Survey convened in Room 16, Municipal
Building at 6: 40 PQM, Present. were Chairman Wood, Secretary Barker, Board
Members Pelychrones, Griffin and Hampson and Assistant Superintendents
Edward D. Mr Tnttre, Jr. and William R. Bergeron.
Secretary Barker read the Notice of Public Hearing at 8: 40 P.M.
regarding the approval, disapproval, or modification of plans for a new
subdivision called Batchelder Estates.
The proposed subdivision will provide fourteen (14) new lots.
The roadway is located on the northerly side of Franklin Street between
Pearl Street and Haverhill Street adjacent to Batrhelder Field.
The M.D.C. sewer main extension permit and the details of the
actual sewer pumping station will have to be designed according to the
requirements of +he Division of Water Pollution Control and the Town of
Reading requirements but these are not problems at this time.
There were approximately five residents present. Chairman Wood
welcomed those present to the contim,ed Public Hearing.
Also present were 0. D-^:-:17-_y Latham and Tack I_uggi of Dana
Perkins Associates, engineers for the project.
Mr. Luggi stated we have addressed the concerns of the drainage
easements and the Departments' concerns.
Mr. Bergeron stated at the request of the Developer we continued
this hearing because the developer needed to go before the Conservation
Commission. He believes they did get a favorable response from them.
Everything we previously discussed has been taken care of on these plans.
Chairman Wood asked how do you intend to provide screening for

Mr. Luggi stated we could place typical evergreen bushes and
completely encircle if. At this time there is no Definitive Plan for a
pumping station. There is a need for one and plans would have to he
submitted at a later date with your Board.
Mr. Bergeron stated the Division of Water Pollution Controlwill
dictate to us what they require for a sewer pumping station.
Mr. Latham stated as far as we are concerned there is no problem
with this being a Condition of Approval.
It was moved, seconded and voted 5, 0 to close the Hearing at 8' 58
P.M.
It was moved, seconded and voted 4:0' 1 (Mr. Pelychrones
abstaining) to accept the Definitive Pians for Batchelder Estates subject
to the M.D.C. sewer main extension permit and the details of the actual
' sewer pumping station designed according to the requirements of the
Division of Water Pollution Control and the Town of Reading requirements
and that the names of the roads be called Partridge Road and Quail Run as
shown on the plans dated May 23, 1983 revised September 19, 1983.
The meeting adjourned at 9'00 P.M.
