A meeting of the Board of Survey convened in Room 16, Municipal
Building at 7:35 P.M. Present were Chairman Mood, Secretary Barker, Board
Members Polychrones, Criffin and Hampson and Assistant Superintendents
Edward D. McIntire Sr. and William R. Bergeron.
The Chairman read a letter from O. Bradley Latham, Attorney for
the applicant of Batchelder Estates Subdivision requesting that the
deadline by which the Board of Survey must vete upon and take action as to
the subject subdivision and plan be extended for an additional thirty (30)
days.
It was moved, seconded and voted 5:0 to grant a 30 day extension
' and postpone the Hearing until Monday evening, October 17 at 8:00 P.M.
The Board adjourned temporarily to meet as the Board of Public
Works at 7:45 P.M.
The meeting reconvened at 8: 06 P.M.
The Board met with Attorney William Wagner and property owner
Steven D. Baker regarding a lot off Pleasant Road.
Attorney Wagner stated his client had been unable to obtain any
additional evidence from abutters in the area regarding the drainage.
Chairman Wood stated the problem is that without some kind of
information regarding flooding in the area, it willbe difficult to make a
decision. She also stated these problems will be brought up at the Board
of Appeals Hearing. Some kind of testimony of the people in the area is
1 needed.

Mr. barker moved that the Board find the land as defined as the
property of Steven D. Raker, off Pleasant Road; as being not subject to
flooding nor unsuitable for human orrupanry because of drainage and
topographic conditions providing that the minimum cellar floor elevation
be maintained at the present flood plain elevation. The motion was
seconded and defeated 114 (Mrs. Wood, Mr. Barker, Mr. Polychrones and Mr.
Griffin opposed).
Mr. Barker moved that the Board of Survey grant permission for
the utilities to be installed on a lot of land as defined as the property
of Steven D. Baker, off Pleasant Road, without the requirement for having

frontage on an approved right-of-way. The motion was seconded and
defeated O: O:S (all abstaining).
Mr. Barker instructed William R. Bergeron to prepare a letter to
the Board of Appeals with regard to the votes on the land off Pleasant
Read..
The meeting adjourned at 9: 30 P.M.
