Meeting of the Board of Survey opened in Room 16, Munici-
pal Building at 9:05 P. M.
Present were Chairman Dustin, Secretary Price, Board Member
Russell , Superintendent Louanis, Assistant Superintendent-Engineer-
ing Bergeron, Assistant Engineer Redford and Finance Committee
Members Carl Beaulieu and Jose A. Canto.
Minutes of the previous meeting were accepted as written.
Mr. John Rivers, developer of a subdivision known as River-
side Homes, requested the Board release Lots 1 , 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7,
8, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28 and 29 from the building and conveyance
restrictions. Mr. Rivers presented a three way agreement, executed
by him and the Malden Cooperative Bank in the amount of fifty-seven
thousand dollars ($57,000.00) as surety to cover the completion
of the work remaining on the aforementioned lots. Following a
brief discussion, it was moved, seconded and voted to accept/ the
three way agreement and the Board signed the document.
Assistant Superintendent Bergeron advised the Board of the
status of the subdivision known as Chapel Hill Estates and in-
formed the Board that the sum of $55,800.00 was sufficient to
complete the remaining work on Lots 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 14, 159
16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 , 22, 23, 24 and 25• It was moved, seconded
and voted to accept Term Deposit Certificate No. 7-4404, Arlington
Five Cent Savings Bank in the name of Terrace Trust Realty and
Savings Book No. 40-000568 from the Melrose Savings Bank contain-
ing $5,800.00 as a cash bond to cover the necessary work and to
release said lots.
The Engineering Division had approved a request from Symes
Associates, Inc., developer of Countryside Lane Extension for
the release of $27,000.00 of a $29,000.00 bond on this project.
Following a brief discussion it was moved, seconded and voted
to release $27,000.00 and retain $2,000.00 in the form of a
passbook (#81-000279 Atlantic Savings Bank) to cover the balance
of the work required to complete the development.
