Meeting of the Board of Survey opened in Room 16, Municipal
Building, 16 Lowell Street at 9:00 P. M.
Present were Chairman Dustin, Secretary Price, Board Members
Russell and Botka, Assistant Superintendent of Operations McIntire,
Acting Assistant Superintendent of Engineering Bergeron and Finance
Committee Member Carl Beaulieu.
Read letter from Domenick Zanni Sons, Inc, requesting re-
lease of bond on Rustic Lane and Field Pond Drive together with
memorandum from Mr. Bergeron stating the work required for com-
pletion of the two streets has been satisfactorily completed and
recommending the release of the remaining monies. It was moved,
seconded and voted that the Board release $1 , 100.00 on Field Pond
Drive and $1 ,000.00 on Rustic Lane.
Read memorandum from the Superintendent concerning Lot 23 of
the Riverside Homes development off Sunnyside Avenue. Mr. Din-
bergs, who lives at 34 Sunnyside Avenue wishes to purchase Lot
23 and combine it with his lot making it one lot with legal front-
age on Sunnyside Avenue. The Superintendent recommended that
the Board release Lot 23 from the Covenant Agreement providing
the lot is sold to Mr. Dinbergs and becomes a part of the exist-
ing lot at 34 Sunnyside Avenue. Following a brief discussion,
it was moved, seconded and voted to release Lot 23 of the Riverside
Homes Subdivision from the operation of a Covenant in order that
said lot may be combined with Lot A on Sunnyside Avenue to form
one larger lot with the understanding that Lot 23 is now no longer
considered a separate buildable lot.
Read letter from Chester C. Sullivan, Trustee, Main Street
Realty Trust requesting that the Board grant a year's extension of
the Covenant Agreement or until August 5, 1978, his reasons being
that he did not receive the Order of Condition from the Conserva-
tion Commission until February 1977 and there was more drilling
and blasting than had been anticipated. Mr. Bergeron outlined
the status of the development at this time stating that the utilities
are in and that the builder expects to begin home construction
this Fall . Following a lengthy discussion, it was moved, seconded
and voted to extend the Covenant Agreement until August 5, 1978.
Mr. Bergeron advised the Board that Vincent C. Fantasia,
Trustee for Terrace Trust, had furnished the Town with a Perfor—
mance Bond in the amount of $5,800.00. A brief discussion
followed and it was moved, seconded and voted to sign the Release
of Restrictions on Lot 1 on Chapel Hill Drive from the operation
of Section A of the Agreement between Terrace Trust and the Board
of Survey of the Town of Reading dated September 10, 1973. The
Board signed the Rglease and instructed Mr. Bergeron to hold the
document until the binder course of the roadway was constructed
and approved by the Department.
The Board signed Plan of Land in Reading, Mass. , dated August
10,, 1977 prepared by Hayes Engineering, Inc., Melrose, Mass, of
seven lots on South Street not requiring approval under the Sub—
division Control Law.
