HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-04-28 Board of Survey Minutes April 28, 1975 1 ' Meeting of the Board of Survey opened at 9:00 P. M. in Room I 16, Municipal Building. Present were Chairman Russell , Secretary Dustin, Board Mem- bers Blood, Price and Botka and Superintendent Louanis . Read Notice of Final Hearing regarding the approval , dis- approval or modification of the lines and grades of County Road Extension. The Developer, Mr. J. Clifford Vigeant, was represented by his attorney, Joseph Maclera and Mr. Earl Thompson of Essex Sur- vey Service, Inc. , who presented the Plan to the Board and explained the proposed subdivision of three lots one of which already has an existing house. It was stated that all the requirements set forth by the Board of Survey have been met. The Superintendent reported the Engineering Division had reviewed the plans and they were in accord with the Board of Survey Rules and Regulations. Several questions were asked by the abutting property owners concerning ' the drainage and the need for the turnaround at the end of the street. Much concern was expressed regarding the safety of the abutting property owners directly to the north of the turnaround since there is a substantial drop to their houses on Arnold Avenue. It was moved, seconded and voted to close the Hearing. The Board discussed the plan in detail with the Superintendent. Considerable attention was given to the possible safety hazard at the end of the circle. After discussing several possible proposals it was moved, seconded and voted 4-1 to approve the Final Plan and Profile of the Subdivision known as County Road Extension with the added provision that a guard rail be installed at the end of in the tree yawn area o the cul de sac covering 90 of the circle in accordance with the construction standards of the Massachusetts Department of Public Works.
