HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-05-01 Board of Survey Minutes 1 213 May 1 , 1972 ' Meeting of the Board of Survey opened at 8:00 P.M. in Room 16, Municipal Building. Present were Chairman White, Secretary Watt, Board Members Blood, Florence and Reed and Superintendent Louanis. The Board met with Laurier Beaulieu, 62 Red Gate Lane, Lester Peabody, Developer, and Peter Ogren, Engineer associated with Hayes Engineering, Inc. , regarding alleged im- proper construction in Red Gate Lane. Mr . Beaulieu outlined his problem and cited people from whom he had solicited aid. He was advised that he had a problem and is looking to the Town for a solution. Investiga- tion by the Engineering Division indicates that work done to date is in conformance with the Town ' s requirements, and ac- cording to the Superintendent, the problem lies with the grading of the lots . Mr . Beaulieu stated that it is the result of the Developer, Mr. Peabody, piping the Swale in the two lots adja- cent to him. Mr . White stated that the Town had no control over the grading of private properties. The Board of Survey 's control lies within the layout of the proposed road and the utilities as shown on the approved Final Plan of Red Gate Lane. Mr . Ogren stated that he was the Engineer for Hayes Engineering, Inc. who designed the drainage and project and he believed that the plan was technically correct and would not 220 criticize his engineering. ' The Superintendent was instructed to check the minimum floor level . The Board took no action. Meeting adjourned at 8:45 P.M. Respectfully submitted, Secretary f
