May 17, 1971
Chairman White, Board Member Hodgkins and Superintendent
Louanis met at the corner of Franklin Street and Covey Hill Road
for the purpose of perambulating the drainage ditch from that
point to its headwaters in the swamp at the end of Apple Gate
Road. It was noted that the drainage ditch was functioning pro-
perly with no major obstructions and that the entire general area
has a high water table and existing natural swamplands .
The Members returned to the Town Hall to meet as the
Board of Public Works at 7:40 P.M.
The Board reconvened at 9:00 P.M.
The subject of drainage in the Covey Hill area was
' brought before the Board. The Board discussed the Superintendent' s
suggestion that a survey might be made of all existing drainage
areas left in the Town which could be potential developments and
produce a Master Plan. A discussion ensued. Messrs. Watt, Florence
and White were of the opinion that the Town is in no way obligated
in this particular development.
Meeting adjourned at 9: 15 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
Secretary
