MEETING OF THE BOARD OF SURVEY OPENED AT 8:35
P.11. IN ROOM 16, MUNICIPAL BUILDING.
PRESENT WERE CHAIRMAN FLORENCE, SECRETARY WHITE,
BOARD MEMBERS HODGKINS AND WATT AND SUPERINTENDENT LOUANIS.
READ ENGINEERING DIVISION REPORT OF THE SUB-
DIVISION COLONIAL ESTATES - SECTION II - CONTAINING COR-
RECTIONS, ADDITIONS AND CHANGES:
Z. ADD CIRCLE AT END OF BEAVER ROAD AND CORRECT
FRONTAGES AND LOT AREAS.
2. CORRECT SLOPE OF DRAIN ON WORK DRAWING BEAVER
ROAD FROM SLOPE 0. 0007 TO SLOPE 0. 007.
3. SHOW EASEMENT BEARINGS AND DIMENSIONS ON LOT 10.
4. SET MINIMUM CELLAR FLOOR ELEVATIONS.
5. SHOW A ROADWAY CONNECTION BETWEEN BEAVER ROAD
AND PEARL STREET.
REASONS: A. TWO OPENINGS, OFF PEARL STREET,
HAVE BEEN LEFT FOR THIS PURPOSE.
B. IF CONNECTION TO BEAVER ROAD IS
MADE NEAR CORNER, IT WOULD ELIMI-
NATE THE "KIDNEY ", A PROBLEM TO
THE DEPARTMENT IN TERMS OF SNOW-
PLOWING.
C. BETTER TRAFFIC FLOW FOR FIRE PRO-
TECTION AND BETTER ACCESS TO ROUTE
28 FOR PROPERTY OWNERS.
D. WOULD GIVE ACCESS FOR AN ADDITIONAL
WATER CONNECTION, AND THEREFORE, A
BETTER FLOW IN THE NEW AREA AS
WELL AS IN THE OLDER SECTION OF
COLONIAL DRIVE.
6. WHAT PROVISIONS HAVE BEEN MADE FOR A RICHT-OF-
WAY TO THE FOSTER AND C. J. HOMES PROPERTIES -
' "FOSTER 'S LANE"? NOTED ON THE PLAN AS "OLD ROAD
TO BE ABANDONED ".
7. DEED DESCRIPTION SHOULD BE SUBMITTED.
8. SHOW STUB ROAD IN VICINITY OF STATION 4*10t AND
CORRECT FRONTAGE AND AREA OF LOT 1.

MR. WATT MOVED THAT THE RECOMMENDATIONS AS OUT- '
LINED BE ACCEPTED AND INCORPORATED IN THE PLAN, MR. WHITE
SECONDED AND IT WAS VOTED.
READ ENGINEERING DIVISION REPORT ON PLANS SUB-
MITTED FOR A FINAL HEARING ON RANDALL ROAD AND LISA LANE
SUBDIVISION. THE FOLLOWING RECOMMENDED ITEMS HAVE NOT BEEN
DONE:
1. "SHOW GUTTER LINE PROFILES OF STREET INTERSEC-
TIONS. " NO PROFILES AT THE INTERSECTION OF
RANDALL ROAD AND OVERLOOK ROAD WERE SUBMITTED.
Z. "HOW ARE ROADWAY SIDE SLOPES TO BE HANDLED IN
THE AREAS OF PRIVATE PROPERTY ALONG RANDALL
ROAD 7u
NO EXPLANATION GIVEN. SUGGEST SHOWING THE
TOES AND TOPS OF SIDE SLOPES ON DRAWINGS. THE '
DEVELOPER SHOULD OBTAIN SIGNED RELEASES FROM
THE ABUTTORS GIVING HIM PERMISSION TO ENTER AND
WORK ON THE PRIVATE PROPERTY WHERE HE WOULD HAVE
TO CUT OR FILL. A COPY OF THE RELEASES SHOULD
BE SUBMITTED TO THE BOARD.
S. "FURTHER STUDY OF 8-INCH SEWER OFF MONROE AVENUE
IN EASEMENT NEEDED. PLAN AND PROFILE DO NOT
SHOW ACTUAL FIELD CONDITIONS WHICH AFFECT METHOD
OF CONSTRUCTION WITHIN THE EASEMENT.
NO EXPLANATION GIVEN AS TO METHOD OF CONSTRUC-
TION.
IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE, THE SEWER BETWEEN
STATION 1+25 AND STATION 4+15 ON RANDALL ROAD SHOULD
BE LOWERED TO A DEPTH OF 7 FEET. ALSO, THE SEWER PIPE
CLASS SHOULD BE CHANGED FROM 1500 TO 2400 BETWEEN STA-
TIONS 4+15 TO 7+30 AND 11+67 TO 14+80 (RANDALLROAD

AND BETWEEN STATIONS 1+88 (EASEMENT) TO 1+70 \LISA
LANE .
THE BOARD NAS OF THE OPINION THAT A MAJOR DRAIN-
AGE PROBLEM EXISTED IN THE AREA. THE ENGINEERING .DIVISION
9.5
WAS OF THE OPINION THAT THE SOUTH SIDE OF RANDALL ROAD
WOULD BE A PROBLEM. MR. WATT MOVED THAT THE DEVELOPER BE
REQUESTED TO INCORPORATE THE GRADES AND DRAINAGE IN THE
PLAN; ALSO THE SUPERINTENDENTS RECOMMENDATIONS.
