MINUTES OF THE READING RETIREMENT BOARD MEETING
Tuesday March 26, 2019
The Reading Retirement Board held a regular session meeting on March 26, 2019 in The Conference
Room at 2 Haven Street,Unit 307, Reading, Massachusetts.
The meeting was called to order at 5:00 P.M. by Chairman Thomas Clough in the presence of members,
Sharon Angstrom, Carol Roberts, David Gentile, Board Administrator Colleen Loughlin, Assistant
Board Administrator Elaine Kelly and Joseph Coughlin. Joseph Veno was unable to attend.
MINUTES
• Minutes from the January 24, 2019 regular session were signed by all members, except David
Gentile who was unable to attend.
• Minutes from the February 13, 2019 special session were signed by all members, except Joseph
Veno and David Gentile who were unable to attend.
• SHARON ANGSTROM moved to accept the minutes from the February 19, 2019 regular session.

APPROVAL OF MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS
• SHARON ANGSTROM moved to approve Johanna Roman's "Application for Disability
Retirement."
The Reading Retirement Board received from Attorney Michael Sacco a review and opinion
regarding the disability application for Johanna Roman. The next step is for the Board to approve
the application and conduct an evidentiary hearing prior to requesting PERAC to convene a medical
panel.

2020 at the May 28, 2019 regular board meeting. This begins on July 1, 2019 and 'ends lune 30,
2020. It is limited to a maximum amount of 3%of$12,000.

• A transfer amount of$693.31 dated 2/15/19 was received from the State Retirement Board for Erika
McNamara. The State Retirement System will accept liability for I month and 4 days of creditable
service.
• A transfer amount of$40,608.54 dated 2/28/19 was received from the Middlesex County Retirement
Board for Cheryl Tavares. The Middlesex County Retirement System will accept liability for 15
years and 4 months of creditable service.
• A transfer amount of $25,013.23 dated 1/1/19 was received from the Essex Regional Retirement
Board for Erika Ballard. The Essex Regional Retirement System will accept liability for 9 years and
3 months of creditable service.
• A check was received from the following Boards for full payment of its Section 3(8)(c)
reimbursement:
