Review minutes, vote on acceptance
Meeting minutes from 2/8/2017 approved, as amended.
Ongoing Business:
Earth Day Planning— Location (Saturday, April 22)
• List of vendors still expanding. Need to cross reference list from previous ED
event. Looking for a local window vendor (Moynahan and Home Depot) by
checking Friends and family day.
• Jeff to extend an invitation to Nutonomy and Chevy dealer
• Ron to follow-up with electric car dealers. The Chevy dealer has agreed to
attend. The Ford dealer has agreed to send cars. Tesla is a maybe, hard to
get a response. BMW has not responded. Hyundai in Danvers is a possible.
Honda is not offering an electric car (Insight). Mitsubishi will be contacted.
Nissan Leaf will be contacted.
• Gina to follow-up with town committees. Gina does not have a contact for the
Reading Garden Club.
• Laurie Ann to contact RMLD connections including Healthy Homes and
Chargepoint.
• Ron to check with Laura Gemmi about having a poster at the April 4 election.
• Need to begin our marketing and outreach.
• Focus"Earth Day for a Sustainable Future", make Flyer.

• Use/Ban of Plastic Bags
• Draft an instructional motion to direct the Climate committee to look into
issue of plastic bag use. (Dave/Ron)
• Does not need to go into the warrant. Town meeting starts on April 24.
• Need input from Bob L. on how it might be supported.
• Food Waste Ban
• Spoke with Organix Solutions about diverting food waste from commercial
and residential food waste.
• Extended invitation to Organix Solutions (Debra Darby) to attend Earth Day
• Post-Earth Day event with potential stakeholders to discuss commercial food
waste management options.
• Ron to contact JRM about their ability to handle residential food waste.
• Facebook /Website
• Updated gmail list for the "read i ngcli matecommittee" which includes all
committee members.
• Created a Kids page for Gretchen on our RCAC website.
• Need to identify items to populate the site.
• Material to go into Google Docs.
• Bike Swap (May 5/6)
• Insurance certificate from the Town has been initiated.
• One of the RCAC members should attend the Bike Swap event (Ray).
• Action Items for RCAC (items carried forward)
• Revisit the Energy Services Company (ESCo) - to understand the progress on
the energy efficiency and reductions. Find who (Joe Huggins (781-942-5492))
in Reading is tracking this. - Ray
• Reading Library home energy focus for future home tours. - Gretchen & Ron
• Reinvent our Green Award program (Green Business and Green Leader). -
