Welcome to Members and Guests Butch Conary present at a guest. Dave Williams returned from Florida. Review minutes, vote on acceptance 4/12/2017 accepted as amended 4/26/2017 accepted as presented Ongoing Business: • Presentation the Board of Selectmen • Bag ban presentation went well • Sunset for the committee up for approval, no action taken • Andy Friedmann, Selectman liaison • Bike Swap (May 5/6) • 106 bikes received. • Over 80 adopted. • Remainder sent off for reuse. • Better Bags Bylaw • Bag restrictions depend on the thickness of the bag (2.5 mills) • Need to commit next meeting to review various ordinances and exemptions. • Groups to present the draft bylaw to include Chamber of Commerce, Rotary • Survey of business that are likely to be impacted. Town of Reading-Meeting Minutes • Bag use at grocery stores is down about 50% • Newspapers and produce bags are exempt • Promote alternatives to the use of plastic bags • Ask Bylaw committee for procedural requirements • Create a Google folder to share documents and information. Potential library meeting event. • Friends and Family Day (lune 17) • Promote community shared solar - • Alternative to plastic bag use • Ron's Replacement • With Ron's leaving there is an opening for a full member • We have two associate members that will continue in that role. • Clerk will post and opening, interested residents submit statement of interest, someone from the Selectman will "interview" the candidate. Board of Selectmen will vote on the appointments. Appointed members are sworn in and take ethics training. . • Summer Social • Potential sites Ron's house, Ray's house, and Matterra Cabin. • Ray to put out possible dates, off Wednesday nights and Sunday afternoon. • Reading Garden Club • Ray to maintain Cherry Tree Barrel at the train station. • RCAC Branding • Cards with contact info • Reuseable bags with logo for distribution • Website • Create Google groups for email communication • Tree Plantings • There still is a tree donation program • A new tree warden will be coming in and introduce ourselves to him. • Other projects for after the summer • Next Community Shared Solar Site • Locations for EV chargers The meeting adjourned at 8:35 pm Next meeting 5-31-2017 at 7:00 pm.
